Background
One of our most Senior HR Consultants, Steve has almost 20 years of Human Resources experience working for Procter and Gamble and The IBM Corporation in the UK and abroad. Whilst employed at these 2 large multinational companies he gained experience in Generalist HR, Acquisitions, Divestitures, Organisation Development and all aspects of Management Training. He managed a large acquisition (Clairol hair products) on a European basis and helped in the divestiture of the P&G HR division.

In his last assignment he was involved in setting up and running the Procter and Gamble European HR Shared Service Centre. He was responsible for an Organisation of 180 HR professionals covering areas of work such as: payroll, travel expenses, relocation, pensions and benefits, HR data management software and web portals in addition to recruitment, appraisals and disciplinary matters for the organisation. This involved the use of leading edge technologies to automate and simplify HR processes and included the design and implementation of HR web portals. This organisation was established after conducting an audit of all the Company’s HR activities, quantifying, mapping the process and deciding which HR function could be simplified and centralised using technology and which functions should be left in the current design. 

Once the centre was established many large multinational visited the site to see how their HR function may look in the future. He presented on how to design HR departments to Nestle, Novartis, Phillip Morris, The BBC, Cadbury Schweppes and Heinz.

For Macnaughton McGregor he visits clients, audits their HR process and documentation and proposes changes and updates to allow them to maintain up to date policies in line with the Employment legislation. He carries out essential human resources training to managers at all levels and works with managers and HR personnel to develop their knowledge and skills to enable them to manage the people side of business effectively.
