Background:
Richard has over 15 years experience as a Management Trainer / Learning and Development Consultant within both the public and private sectors. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the fields of leadership, management development, senior management coaching, organisational change, teams culture, HR, personal and organisational development.
Richard specialises in the design, delivery and facilitation of highly effective learning solutions to both staff and managers at all levels.
Recent Contracts
- Design, development and facilitation of a six month Leadership Development Programme for Senior Managers / Directors of Lancashire Economic Partnership. Using 360-degree feedback, the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, one to one executive coaching and facilitating a programme of workshops to enhance leadership skills.
- Working with Senior Managers to design and facilitate a bespoke 12 Month Leadership Development Programme for Children Services Leaders within Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council. Facilitating workshops, action learning sets and one to one coaching sessions. Enabling the Senior Management Team to pass rigorous Government inspection.
- Design and delivery of a pilot Management Insight Programme for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) as part of the Leadership dimension of the Professional Skills for Government initiative. Mentoring and Coaching managers in their development as future senior leaders. Nominated for a DWP HR award for instilling core leadership values in an innovative way in its leaders and commissioned to run for a further programme.
- Facilitation of 360 degree feedback sessions to the Senior Civil Service as part of the Professional Skills for Government initiative. Connecting with delegates and working along side them to explore, in depth, areas of strengths and development. Testing and challenging their understanding and coaching to explore alternative ways of meeting their development needs.
- Design, development and delivery of a Leadership Development Programme (Leadership for Change/ Leadership for Results) for all middle to senior managers within the DWP. The largest leadership programme undertaken by the Civil Service paving the way for successful introduction of large scale changes within the DWP. Its focus being on challenging traditional thinking about Leadership and the Management of Change. Connecting with delegates and exploring different ways of thinking during highly participative mini master classes throughout the two day events
- Design and delivery of a HR Decision making Programme for CXL (formerly Connexions Lancashire) Managers. Focusing on Selection, Discipline and Grievance, Attendance and Capability issues. Exploring the root causes of problems, inconsistencies with policies and the effect of personal beliefs and values when making HR decisions. Coaching managers to enhance their ability to deal with situations. Resulting in higher confidence levels when dealing with HR issues, a re- write of some policy guidance and also a reduction in issues, complaints, queries and grievances received by HR
- Design, delivery and facilitation of a leadership Development programme for Sparks Bakery Bradford. Enhancing the leadership skills of middle managers, team leaders and supervisors following rapid expansion of the company due to the successful bid of a contract to supply Morrison’s supermarkets.
