The whole field of employment law and human resource management can be daunting. The legal aspects can feel like a minefield and issues can be left to fester if the way forward isn’t clear.

At Macnaughton McGregor Ltd we help you navigate through the uncertainty and deal with difficult staffing issues for you. We will work with you to make sure you set up your HR procedures well so that they are right for you and your business as well as meeting legal and best practice requirements.

We provide a flexible service tailored to the needs of your business and what sets us apart is that we give you hands-on practical support when and where you need it.

We have three key products that will meet the needs of your business:

We deliver a range of solutions, which include:

HR Set Up
Ideal for you if you need to implement or review HR paperwork and ensure it complies with the current law. You will have a dedicated senior HR specialist who will discuss your needs, review your current paperwork and provide you with up to date versions of the following:

  • Written Statement of Particulars - for all staff and templates for new recruits
  • Employee Handbook - to be given to each member of staff

We create these documents tailored to your specific business requirements and carry out a managers briefing session to ensure that everyone is comfortable with the content. We can also brief the changes out to the staff.

HR Rapid Response
Difficult people issues do arise but who do you to turn to for immediate support? Working with Macnaughton McGregor you will be allocated a dedicated specialist who will work alongside you to plan and implement the best course of action for your business.

The types of issues that we are regularly involved in include:

  • Discipline and grievance
  • Breakdown of union negotiations
  • Dismissal investigation
  • Gross misconduct
  • Performance issue
  • Restructures
  • Redundancies
  • Bullying and harassment

HR Rapid Response is available at £100 per hour broken down into 15 minute chunks, minimum of 1 hour for face to face meetings.

HR Manager
Having an experienced HR Manager available to meet your needs is not always viable for companies. Macnaughton McGregor can offer you a dedicated senior HR specialist who makes sure you have the support needed to help the people side of your business run smoothly.

The HR Manager service includes the following:

  • A Health check of your current documentation and procedures
  • Provision of Written Statement of Particulars and Employee Handbook
  • Provision of a complete policy guide and training of yourself and any other key managers to give a high level understanding of the obligations of Employers and also strategies to avoid Employment Tribunals. This training can be given at your premises.
  • Update Newsletters every 6-8 weeks highlighting upcoming changes in the Law
  • Regular supply of updated policy documents to ensure that your Policy manual is kept always up to date and fit for use.

Crucially you also get a bank of time with your dedicated HR specialist so that you can discuss issues as they arise. The amount of time depends on the fee band and those are as follows:

  • Up to 20 employees, £1,250 per annum with 1 day of HR specialist time
  • 21 – 50 employees, £1,850 per annum with 3 days of HR specialist time
  • 51 - 100 employees, £3,500 per annum with 5 days of HR specialist time
  • Over 100 employees, fees on application

All fees quoted are subject to VAT and travel expenses over a 30 mile radius of Newcastle.
